Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book? Please refer to our booking page on the website, you can pick and choose a date/time in your favourite area if it’s free. 
  • How do I pay? You can pay online through our payment gateway, stripe. You will receive payment confirmation and your code information via email.  
  • How far in advance or late can I book? We are very happy to receive all bookings. All bookings are secured when payment has been received and cleared.  Short notice bookings are available as long as you have time to arrive and your payment has been cleared. Advance bookings are always available but will only be secured when payment has been received and cleared.
  • How do I open the lock? The gate to your private area has a code. On each gate you’ll find a padlock. Put in the code, squeeze the top and bottom of the padlock together and it will spring open. To lock the padlock, scramble the code and squeeze the top and bottom of the padlock together.
  • I am unable to open the lock? Please call Wendy on 07950020820 if no staff are on site.
  • When do I receive the gate codes? You will receive an email with information on your code.
  • How do I amend my booking? Please send an email to wendy@letthedogsrun.uk, We can swap your slot to another more suitable time. 
  • Will there be other people/ dogs in the area I’ve booked? No, we only offer 1 hour private hire for each area. However, other people and dogs may be in the adjoining areas.
  • If a group of us want to come together, What is your maximum number of dogs? We only accept 4 dogs in each area. As of January 2021, only 2 people from two separate households may meet outside.
  • I arrive early. What do I do? Please wait in your car  until your session starts. It is very important to remember that other people using our areas may have dogs with issues such as fear aggression, reactive to humans or dogs, anxiety problems etc
  • Who is classed as the responsible person in charge of our booking? The person who made and paid for the booking is classed as the Responsible Person. They must ensure their group follows all our guidelines and rules.
  • What is supplied in each field? We supply drinking water for dogs. A basic first aid kit, an ice pack, spare poop bags and hand sanitiser can be found in the red box in each area. Shelters and seating will be provided in the near future.
  • What are your opening hours? Please refer to our opening times page. 
  • What happens if there are adverse weather conditions or your ill etc? A text alert will be sent to everyone that has booked during the affected times. A credit  will be offered to any customer affected by the closure. However travels costs will not be credited.
  • Where do we park? Let the Dogs Run has a private car park on site. Please park head first into each parking bay so that dogs can be taken out into the car park.
  • What is your dog poop policy? All dog poo must be bagged and binned in the bin provided in our reception area. We encourage the use of compostable poop bags. Spare poo bags are supplied in each area in the red box. All dog poop is disposed of in line with PKC Regulations. A watering can is supplied at the water butts to wash away any loose poo.
  • How big are your exercise areas? Our Wild Woody Wood is ½ an acre, Mutley’s Activity Park is 1 acre and Archie’s Freedom Field is 1 ½ acres in size.
  • Do you have toilets? No, we’re so sorry we have no toilet facilities on site!
  • Is there a shelter in each area? Not at present. Our future plan is to build shelters and additional seating (Spring 2021)
  • Is there any livestock nearby? We have no livestock in our neighbouring fields. However, dog walkers, horses and riders, deer, pheasants and hares can wander past our facility at any time.
  • Can I bring my own dog toys? Yes, you may but all toys must be removed at the end of your session.
  • Training aids. Can I bring any? We only accept legal training aids. We do not accept the use of harsh training at our facility.
  • Where can I wash my muddy dog? We have a lovely wee burn accessed from the car park. We also have a Mud Daddy which is in reception and is available for use. Please return it when you have finished.
  • Where do I find your address and postcode if I need an emergency service? Our contact details and address can be found on and above the red boxes in each area. Our address is on our Fire Action Plans which are displayed outside reception and in our double entry gateway system.
