Archie’s Freedom Field is our 1 ½ acre grass field. It has its own private car park suitable for 2 large or 3 small cars. Additional parking is available in our main car park. We’ve left our field empty to give our visiting dogs the opportunity to have plenty of room to run and run! It’s also a fantastic place to throw a ball, fling a frizzbee or kick a football. Thirsty dogs can enjoy a refreshing drink from the water trough which is filled from our burn.
The adjoining fence between Archies Freedom Field and Mutley’s Play Park is double deer fenced with additional rabbit netting on one side preventing little snouts from popping through!
All our adjoining doubled deer fences have beech hedges planted within the 1 metre space. In time these hedges will provide a lovely screen between our hired areas as well as a lovely habitat for the wildlife to live in. We’ve planted evergreen, deciduous and fruit trees within Archies Freedom Field and its private car park. In time they will offer areas of interest as well as a scenting opportunity!
During the Christmas holidays 2020/21 we built a private car park, large field shelter complete with picnic bench, waterproof cushion, an information mural and a sign in register, making Archie’s completely independent from the rest of the dog park unless you wish to use our toilet facilities or visit our main reception.
We also added to Archie’s Freedom Field; Poo bin, Shovel and A watering can, just in case your dog has an upset tummy.
These items will assist in the cleaning up process.
Behind the field shelter attached to one of our fence strainers is our First Aid Station containing; Fire Action Plan, What3words sign, A red box containing a First Aid Kit suitable for both human’s and dog’s and spare poo bags.
On the front of the red box you will find our contact details should you have any questions, queries or concerns!
On our rear boundary fence we’ve put a purple tube filled with spare poo bags. Please help yourselves if you run out!
