Prior to opening our dog walking and home boarding business, Home From Home, in October 2019, we deer fenced and rabbit netted a ½ acre woodland. We called our woodland ‘Our Wild and Woody Wood’. It gave us a safe, stimulating and secure place to exercise the dogs within our care.
During the first lockdown of 2020, we were contacted by many people who wanted to privately hire our woodland. They appreciated that our woodland was a safe, stimulating, secure and non-crowded environment to exercise their dogs and also relax themselves!
It became clear to us that there was a demand for a secured exercise areas where owners could bring their dogs, safe in the knowledge that they would all have a safe and enjoyable time together!
We set about creating 2 additional areas in a field adjacent to our Wild and Woody Wood;
Archie’s Freedom Field is our 1 ½ acre grass field. It has been left bare so that dogs can have oodles of room to run!
Mutley’s Play Park is parallel to our woodland, It is a 1 acre grass area which we have added lots of fun activities.
We are very excited to be able to offer 3 different areas in total, each with their own individual characters and dimensions; Archie’s for a run, Mutley’s for a play or The Wood for exploring!
All our areas are fenced with deer fencing and have rabbit netting added for additional security, so preventing little snouts popping through our adjoining fences.
We have created various areas – off street car parks, An access path to our burn for washing muddy paws, double gated entry/exit systems and a reception area housed within our existing stable.
